Extrema Ratio RAO BLACK
Product Description
In June 2006, the “185th Rgt. Reconnaissance and Target Acquisition” (Target Acquisition Regiment) airborne “FOLGORE” (185th RAO) entrusted Extrema Ratio with the development of a unique knife suitable for the unit’s specific operational functions. This resulted in the RAO: not an overly large knife, but rather a compact survival and field knife, with a heavy and reliable blade. Its very reliable locking system, aided by an additional safety device, effectively turns this folding knife into a fixed blade knife. Opening and closing must be done with both hands to minimize the risk of self-inflicted injuries, as the blade, due to its weight, is akin to a real guillotine.
The additional safety device is a manually threaded steel pin passing through two holes in the guard section of the solid Anticorodal aluminum handle – its presence between the blade and the hand also serves as a significant psychological stimulus. The sheath is an essential part of this weapon system: it contains a diamond sharpener and allows the user to carry the knife both in the open position, held in place by a cord and two clips, and closed, inside the front pocket. The sheath can be attached to tactical vests or regular belts, being compatible with the MOLLE system. Available versions: RAO BLACK, RAO BLACK RUVIDO, RAO DESERT WARFARE.
