Product Description

We are pleased to present one of the most advanced hunting knives in the world – NL5cx Idun, with a blade made of Damascus Cowry X steel. This is probably the best edge steel in the world, in all categories, and definitely one of the most exclusive blades ever made. The edge is made of powdered steel with the following extreme content: C 3%, Cr 20%, Mo 1%, V 0.3% and iron up to 100%. Its hardness is no less than 64 HRC! The sides consist of 120-layer stainless Damascus steel, and with the edge of powdered steel, we form a blade that is undoubtedly world-class in its beauty and strength. The knife is an excellent tool for everyone, but most customers will probably buy it for its collectible exclusivity.

The handle is made from specially selected cowhide: unfortunately, a material that is generally ignored by manufacturers, but which provides a secure and robust grip. It ages beautifully and, over the years, acquires an attractive brown patina, and is resistant to oil, solvents and impervious to water. Dryness can cause small cracks in the handle, but these disappear when the knife is used again.

We persisted with the convex edge, as we consider this to be the ultimate combination of cutting performance and edge strength, and of course our NL5 Idun knife features it. Anyone who knows anything about knife making knows that such an edge can only be made by hand, which is why 99.99% of all knives do not have this type of edge. Knives in general are, of course, mass-produced, where CNC (Computer Numerical Control) robots and grinding machines shape the blades in the best possible way. The machines are loaded with stacks of blades so that production can continue around the clock and the result is often great – good knives at affordable prices. However, if you want top-level strength, corrosion resistance, edge durability and design, the machine is not made to come close to the craftsmanship of a trained and skilled blacksmith. We are therefore very proud to be able to present our Northern Light Series, aware that only the most quality-conscious will appreciate its attributes.

The sheath is made of high-quality black leather.
