Ricognizione e Acquisizione Obiettivi&#8221; (185th Airborne Target Acquisition Regiment) &#8220;FOLGORE&#8221; entrusted <strong>Extrema Ratio<\/strong> with the development of a unique knife suitable for the unit&#8217;s specific operational functions. This resulted in the <strong>RAO:<\/strong> not an excessively large knife, but rather a compact survival and field knife with a heavy and reliable blade. Its highly reliable locking system, aided by an additional safety device, effectively transforms this folding knife into a fixed blade knife.<\/p>\n<p>  The opening and closing must be done with both hands to minimize the risk of self-inflicted injuries, as the blade, due to its weight, is akin to a real guillotine. An additional safety feature is a manually threaded steel pin passing through two holes in the section of the guard of the solid Anticorodal aluminum handle &#8211; its presence between the blade and the hand also serves as a significant psychological stimulus.<\/p>\n<p> The sheath is an essential part of this weapon system: it houses a diamond sharpener and allows the user to carry the knife both in the open position, held in place by a cord and two clips, and closed, inside the front pocket. The sheath can be attached to tactical vests or regular belts, being compatible with the <strong>MOLLE<\/strong> system.
