This milestone among multifunctional knives, widely employed in Afghanistan as standard equipment for the Italian “Nibbio” mission, originated from an experimental project by the COMALP (Alpine Troops Command) to modernize soldier equipment. As part of the mission preparation, the COMALP coordinated a team of companies to create a complete set of experimentally designed equipment for the individual soldier.

Extrema Ratio was chosen by the COMALP to develop a new multipurpose knife suitable for infantry – a knife to be used in any operation anywhere, capable of successfully completing tasks that more specialized tools fail at. We were so successful that after this multifunctional knife came the development of the Fulcrum Bayonet, an implementation of the same that can be mounted on the soldier’s standard rifle. An extremely sturdy and versatile knife, the Fulcrum’s blade can withstand loads of over 150 kilograms without breaking.

The tanto-shaped blade allows for large amounts of work and wear, while still maintaining a sharp and penetrating point at its exceptionally resistant tip.
