Product Description
The Extrema Ratio E.C.M.(Einsatzkommando Cobra Messer) is a multi-purpose fixed-blade knife designed for operational use by the Austrian police’s renamed Einsatzkommando “Cobra” special unit, whose logo is laser-engraved on the heel of the blade. The Extrema Ratio E.C.M. combines the characteristics of a useful tool with those of a reliable blade, in a compact configuration with a total weight of 240g. The blade is made from Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC and is 116 mm long, 5 mm thick and has a flat edge.
The blade profile is of the modified spearpoint type, with a ¾-length false counter thread at the back and a lower guard to protect the hand during use. Both the guard and the pommel have holes to make it easier to attach the knife to various tools or to pass laces through. The blade has a carbon-based DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) surface coating, making it hyper-resistant to abrasion and chemical attack. Given the costly use of the tool, high-strength G10 was used for the handle instead of the usual Forprene.
It is attached to the FULL TANG profile by two through bolts and retains all the ergonomic features known from Extrema Ratio handles. Since this is a knife made for professional applications, great importance was attached to its ease of carrying, accessibility and quick extraction. The polymer sheath is adaptable and can be carried on a duty belt or mounted on a M.O.L.L.E. panel of tactical vests, backpacks or other equipment.
